What Programs Are Offered By Excel High School?

Excel High School offers various accredited programs, including an online middle school, a college-preparatory high school diploma (24-credits), a standard high school diploma (21.5 credits), and an adult diploma program. These programs are suitable for pursuing higher education or entering the workforce, and they also offer English Language Learning (ELL) courses for non-native speakers.

Can I Use A Diploma From Excel High School To Enroll In College, Join The Military, Or Gain Employment?

Yes, the diploma issued by Excel High School is recognized by colleges, employers, and the military. Excel is regionally accredited, making its credentials accepted across all 50 states and beyond.

Is Excel High School Available to Everyone?

Yes! Excel High School is open to students worldwide, ages 11+ for middle school and 14+ for high school. International students are welcome, provided they meet English language proficiency requirements.

Who Are Excel Students?

Excel students come from diverse backgrounds, including athletes, homeschoolers, adult learners, and international students. The flexibility of the online courses allows for part-time, full-time, and credit recovery students to fit learning into their schedules.

How Long Do I Have To Finish My Classes?

The time you have to complete your courses depends on your program and course type. Below is a breakdown for each program:

Full-Time Enrollment:

  • Standard & Honors Students: You have 12 months to complete full courses or 6 months for semester courses.
  • Middle School & Advanced Placement Students: You have 10 months to complete full courses or 5 months for semester courses.

Part-Time Enrollment:

  • Standard Credit (Summer School & Credit Recovery): You have 6 months to complete either full or semester courses.
  • Advanced Placement (AP) Courses: You have 10 months for full courses and 5 months for semester courses.

Adult High School Program:

  • Adult Students: You have 12 months to complete full courses or 6 months for semester courses. If you transfer credits, completion time may vary, but if no credits are transferred, expect to complete the program in 9-12 months.

Extensions:

All programs are eligible for a 2-month extension, available for an additional fee.

Why Isn't Excel High School Free?

Unlike public schools, Excel High School is a tuition-based private institution that does not receive state or federal funding. Tuition fees cover the costs of providing high-quality education, from digital learning tools to experienced instructors. However, for adult students, Excel High School has partnered with Gale and Workforce Solutions in Arkansas and Arizona to offer the adult diploma program for free in those states.

What Is The Cost Of Your Programs?

The cost varies by program. For example, the adult diploma program costs $99.90 per month, the standard diploma for high schoolers is $1,900 annually, and the honors diploma is $2,200 per year. Flexible payment plans are available for all programs.

Does Excel Offer Payment Options?

Yes, students can choose flexible, interest-free monthly payment plans. Whether you wish to pay in full or spread the cost over time, Excel offers options to suit your financial needs.

Is Excel Less Challenging Than Other Traditional High Schools?

How Many Classes Do I Have To Take?

The number of classes you need to take depends on how many credits (if any) you have to transfer from another accredited school and what your post-graduation plans are.

If you have high school credits from another school but haven’t yet requested your transcripts, you can use the Previous Records Request Form to notify your former school to send them to Excel High School. Simply fill out the form, send it to your previous school, and they’ll forward us your records. Many schools offer an online request option, so check with them to find out their specific process.

Basic Graduation Requirements:

To graduate from Excel High School, all students must complete the following credits:

  • 4 English credits
  • 3 Math credits
  • 3 Science credits
  • 3.5 Social Studies credits
  • 8 Elective credits

College-Bound Students:

If you’re planning to attend college after high school, you may want to take additional courses to meet typical college entrance requirements:

  • 4 English credits
  • 4 Math credits
  • 3-4 Science credits
  • 3.5-4 Social Studies credits
  • 2 Foreign Language credits
  • 6 Elective credits
How Long Does It Take to Graduate? (High School Student)

As a high school-aged student, you can move to the next grade level as soon as you successfully complete the coursework for your current level. Once your tuition is paid for the current grade, you can advance, meaning you could graduate as early as age 16 if you’ve passed the SAT with a score of 1270 or the ACT with a score of 26.

To graduate, you must earn the following minimum credits (additional credits may be required for college-bound, Honors, or AP students):

  • 4 English/Language Arts credits
  • 3 Math credits
  • 3 Science credits
  • 3.5 Social Studies credits
  • 8 Elective credits

If you’re transferring into Excel as a 12th-grade student, with up to 75% of your credits from another school, you must complete a minimum of 1 English credit, 1 Math credit, 1 Science credit, 1 Social Studies credit, and 2 elective credits to meet graduation requirements.

Once all your credits are complete and records are up to date, our Registrar’s office will process your transcript and diploma.

How Long Does It Take to Graduate? (Adult Student)

Adult students can take advantage of a fast-track option to earn their high school diploma. You can transfer up to 75% of your credits, leaving a minimum of 1 English credit, 1 Math credit, 1 Science credit, 1 Social Studies credit, and 2 elective credits to complete at Excel High School.

The total minimum number of credits to graduate for adult students is:

  • 4 English/Language Arts credits
  • 3 Math credits
  • 3 Science credits
  • 3.5 Social Studies credits
  • 8 Elective credits

As you complete each required credit, you will be assigned the next, allowing you to progress through the program at your own pace.

Once you fulfill all graduation requirements and your records are updated, the Registrar’s office will send your transcript and diploma to the address listed in your student account.
